The Need

Youth unemployment remains a serious challenge in sub-Saharan African countries, including Uganda. The unemployment of youths (aged 18 to 30) among the total unemployed persons in Uganda is 64%. Given the rapid growth of the Ugandan population – three quarters of the population are below the age of 30 years and are circled with an education system which has no focus to job creation at all.

The youth unemployment in Uganda is believed to be multifaceted most especially by insufficient employable skills (youths possess skills that are not compatible with available jobs) since the education system is focused only to academic grades.

The goals

  1. To quip a generation able to do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for them.
  2. To array the generation into taking paths which God has prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them through education service provision.
  3. To accoutre each one to live the good [fully impacted] life which God prearranged and made ready for them to have.
  4. Establish non-formal training as an integral part to allow inclusion of all the needy community youths.
  5. To raise a generation that is empowered to excel in their life irrespective of academic grades.

The Answer

Mt Hermon shall establish non-formal training as an integral part to allow inclusion of all the needy community youths so as to raise a generation that is empowered to excel in their life irrespective of academic grades by providing and supporting the youths with skilfulness to enhance access of disadvantaged target groups to skills development to curb Uganda’s unemployment among the youths. These include people without academics levels, school drop outs, and females.
